Meet the Machines

Our heritage factory needs lots of machinery to produce an audio valve (8 per valve size) and so this is our simple guide to some of the machines and where they fit in the process.
Most of our big machines are used to make the glass parts. We start with length of lead glass tubes which are cut and shaped into the bases and bulbs. The cage (guts of the valve) are welded onto the base by hand and then inserted into the bulbs and sealed. The final glass process is the evacuation and pinch off.
