Nearly a century after the R-types finished production, Brimar Thermionic Products will launch their first valve, completely designed and manufactured in the UK in April. The R-Type valve was the first triode to be produced and it revolutionised the developing electronic industry worldwide.

Our R-Type is designed to have a performance suitable for all vintage sets and its efficient heater uses around 25% less power putting less stress on ageing components in older equipment. The bright emitter employed in this technology makes the valve look dramatic and its relatively linear performance makes it ideal for use in modern hifi projects that require relatively low amplification levels.
